To help determine if Washington Service Corps is a good fit: Present environmental education curriculum to community residents and business leaders.Present environmental education curriculum to students in local schools.Organize and lead cleanup events on public lands, bodies of water, and beaches.Rebuild trails to reduce negative human impact in forests.Clean streams to protect salmon and other species.Replant native trees and shrubs to protect streams for salmon.Some examples of WSC AmeriCorps member responsibilities include: Nonprofits and government agencies have successfully used over 100 WSC AmeriCorps members each year for environmental projects in Washington State. We love being creative and will work with you to meet the mission of your organization. Larger teams require greater supervision and management but is a good option for organizations with the right capacity to support such a team. These AmeriCorps members typically serve 10.5 months, starting in September or October.
